Hyperbaric Oxygen chamber therapy
Eden Pointe Lifestyle employs the Summit to See Grand Dive vertical mild hyperbaric chamber. The chamber offers a spacious 54” diameter seating area in which you can sit upright in a comfortable lounge chair, in your own clothing. Read a book, check email, surf the web on your tablet or laptop during your 60-90 minute session.
Relax while the chamber comes “up to altitude” and pressure builds to 1.3 atmospheres. This is a pressure increase that classifies our system as painless, non-invasive Mild Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (MHBOT). Most users experience their ears “popping” similar to that of taking off and landing in an airplane. If ear pressure becomes uncomfortable, it can be alleviated by yawning or swallowing. Higher pressures 1.5-2 atmospheres, while increasing tissue oxygen tensions, have been associated with a risk of oxygen toxicity. These can include temporary myopia (nearsightedness), sinus pressure, and rarely seizures.
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy is not indicated in the following conditions:
COPD/Emphysema with air trapping
Acute untreated pneumothorax
Upper Respiratory Infection (URI, cold, sinus congestion)
Or if under treatment with:
Doxorubicin (Adriamycin) chemotherapy
Mafenide acetate (Sulfamylon) topical antibiotic for burns
